This is Mallorca’s best-known olive tree, Cort’s Olive Tree. It was transplanted in 1989 from Serra de Tramuntana, more specifically from Pedruixella Petit (Pollença), as a symbol of peace and land affection.
When its owner knew the destination of the olive tree, he donated it as a gift for the township. At that time it weighed about 3 – 4 tons. Its age is yet exactly unknown but it is believed it is about 500-600 years old.
